On
Sunday evening January 31st, a record breaking crowd of over 300
Columbus Jewish Day School family, friends, alumni and community members
gathered together to celebrate the sixth annual Wisdom of the HeART.
This year’s event honored Gigi and Sam Fried for their long-standing and
continued commitment to the arts and Jewish education at the school.
The evening included gourmet kosher cuisine along with lively auctions
led by Bruce Soll.
On Tuesday, fifth
and sixth grade students welcomed the Fried’s to their classrooms, for a
meaningful conversation about leadership and community building.
Preliminary estimates indicate that Wisdom of the
HeART raised $100,000 for education at CJDS. I hope you enjoy the
accompanying video highlighting the Fried’s commitment to our school.
If you were unable to attend the evening, we missed you, but it’s not
too late to participate by giving a gift in honor of the Fried’s.
Please contact Kathy McGee at 614-939-5311 and she’ll be happy to assist
you, or mail a check payable to CJDS, to 150 E. Granville Road, New
Albany, OH 43054.
We’d like to extend special thanks to the many
volunteers and community members who made this a successful event, and
without whom it wouldn’t have been possible. Of special mention
are Event Co-Chairs Donna Hecker, Nancy Greff and Pam Sharfin, committee
members Beth Axelrod, Natalie Cohen, Jenny Glick, Stacy Herman, Dana
Horowitz, Gayle Pavlofsky and Patty Wolf, and David Lippy for video
design and production.
B’Yedidut,
Rabbi Mitch Levine
